Take the Food Stamp Challenge
Sunday, February 19 through Saturday, February 25
Join Catholic Charities of Northern Kansas' CEO, Karen Hauser and take the
Food Stamp Challenge to spend only $4.50 on food per person, per day.
Live for one week -- Sunday, February 19 through Saturday, February 25 -- on the average food stamp allotment: $31.50, or $4.50 per day.

ABOUT THE CHALLENGE The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) currently helps nearly 45 million low-income people purchase food for their families. Every day, these individuals face a life of poverty.
Leaders and community members across the nation are taking the Food Stamp Challenge in order to help them better understand how the program works on a personal level and to highlight the continued need for and importance of feeding programs to alleviate hunger in the United States. Gain a new perspective on poverty.
GUIDELINES
- Each person can only spend a total of $31.50 on food and beverages during the Challenge week. This translates to $4.50 per day, or $1.50 per meal.

- During the Challenge, eat only food that you purchase for the project. Do not eat food that you already own (this does not include spices and condiments).
